Privacy Policy
Effective date: January 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Dookie Drop (“Dookie Drop,” “we,” “us,” or “our”)
collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our website,
mobile application, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. When you join our waitlist or create an account, we collect your email address and, once the app launches, a username, optional display name, and optional profile photo.
- Content you create. Bathroom logs, ratings, tags, notes, photos, reactions, and any other content you submit. You control whether a log is public or private.
- Location information. With your permission, we use your device’s approximate or precise location to show bathrooms near you and to associate logs with a place. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings.
- Social connections. Friend relationships and interactions you create within the Service.
- Usage & device data. Standard technical information such as device type, operating system, app version, and log data that helps us keep the Service running and secure.
2. How we use your information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Service, including streaks, ratings, feeds, and the bathroom map;
- To notify you about the launch, updates, and features (including waitlist emails);
- To personalize your experience and show relevant nearby bathrooms;
- To keep the community safe — detecting abuse, enforcing our Terms, and responding to reports and blocks;
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- With other users, according to your privacy choices — for example, public logs are visible to others, while private logs are not;
- With service providers who process data on our behalf (such as hosting, database, and analytics providers) under confidentiality obligations;
- For legal reasons, if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users or the public.
4. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to
provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated
content at any time by contacting us. We may retain certain information as required
by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.
5. Your choices & rights
- Access, update, or delete your account information from within the app or by contacting us;
- Control the visibility of your logs (public or private);
- Turn off location access through your device settings;
- Unsubscribe from waitlist and marketing emails using the link in any email.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.
6. Children’s privacy
The Service is intended for users aged 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect
personal information from anyone under 17. If you believe a child has provided us
with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee
absolute security.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the
“Effective date” above and, where appropriate, notify you within the Service.
